Fear of intimacy is an epidemic and growing problem in our society. It causes extraordinary levels of pain, despair and isolation but is a secret condition, much misunderstood, and which millions suffer from, often without any hope of resolution or healing. One of the deepest human needs is for happiness and fulfilment through an intimate relationship; for an individual, to believe that this possibility is closed to them forever, brings many to the brink of desperation, sickness and even suicide.

While fear of intimacy may result from background factors in early life experience, the solution to this problem and permanent lifelong recovery does not necessarily come from an exhaustive analysis of the causes. Instead, what has been shown to be most effective, is a current and direct experience of the transforming power of intimacy in the present.
